At The Gilders Workshop our Traditional Gilding consists of water and oil gilding using gold leaf, silver leaf and decorative dutch metals. Water gilding and oil gilding is the method used for all gilding projects. Today, this method is mostly used for frames, furniture accents, restoration projects, and other small and intricate projects. Water gilding takes years to perfect and has a high burnished finish as oil gilding has a matt finish.
